Daffodils

I am writing a poem each day in April to celebrate National Poetry Month.

Dancing in the light breezes of early April

And reaching for the warmth of the morning sun,

Fancy flowers with trumpet-shaped blooms

Fill my heart with joy as they welcome spring.

Oh, how they fill the gardens with sunshine,

Deserving high praise from the friends.

In the gardens, hyacinths and crocuses

Longing to be as beautiful as the regal blooms.

Sweet, delicate flowers that warm our hearts…

  1. Love the acrostic format, and your poem makes perfect use of it. Love “Dancing in the light breeze of April.”
I wrote about tulips today. Spring is here!
